2020 Next Generation Home Builder Awarded to Hearthside Homes!
The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City awarded Dennis Shriver, President of Hearthside Homes, the 2020 Next Generation Builder Award. This award has been around for 13 years, and it honors young leaders in the greater Kansas City area. The winners of this award are people who are deeply involved in the community, as well as reliable spokespersons in the home building industry.
This year’s winner, Dennis Shriver, is a current Kansas City Home Builders Association board member. He participates in Kansas City, MO middle school meetings, and he also sits on the developer’s counsel. Dennis is extremely involved within the community and has been with Hearthside Homes for over 10 years. He has even been in the top 10 builders listed in the Kansas City business journals residential construction list numerous times!
Dennis worked construction in college and graduated with a Construction Management degree. Shortly after that, he began his career with Hearthside Homes! He loves the variety of his daily tasks and enjoys seeing families happy in the homes that his team has built.
Upon receiving the award, Dennis said; “I want to thank the HBA and the past Presidents, especially for the nomination and the award. A special thanks to all the Hearthside team members, subcontractors, and of course my wife and family. I’m honored to receive this.”

Updates and photos of the building process are shared on the portal often. This online tool ensures that Hearthside Homes homeowners are kept in the loop, understand the timeline of their new construction, can update any change orders that may come up, and have the ability to visualize the whole experience from start to finish. Our Process Is Easy & Stress-Free
We know how daunting the home-building process can be, so we want to make things easy for you! Hearthside Homes has a headache-free home building process that involves 10 stages. From the time we break ground on your project, your home can be ready in as little as six short months. You heard us, we can complete your home in about six short months!
Stage #1: Pre-Construction: First, our team will create the plans specific to your home. We offer different floor plans to make sure each and every home is unique in its own right. Our floor plans range from 2 story, 1.5 story, reverse, ranch, and split style!
Stage #2: Design Selections: Next, you will be meeting with an interior designer. This professional will assist you in selecting all of the finishing touches for your new home at our Design Center!
Stage #3: Appliances: Then, you will meet with our appliance experts to finalize choices for your new kitchen! You will also make decisions on fixtures and lighting during this stage.
Stage #4: Cabinetry: Moving forward, you will head over to Miller’s Custom Cabinets where you will determine the details and personal styling for your cabinets. You can even take a tour of the shop where your cabinets will be created!
Stage #5: Pre-Drywall Orientation: Now it’s time to meet with the construction team and check out the progress on framing, heating and cooling ducts, and plumbing/electrical rough-in work! This is a great time to ask questions and make sure everything looks good.
Stage #6: Build Check: Here, in this stage, you will see your decisions from earlier in the process come to life! You will see more progress and more details being added to your home.
Stage #7: Punch Period: Everything will be inspected in this stage, from the mechanical components to the finishing touches. Our construction team will be sure to inspect every single element and correct any issues before closing day!
Stage #8: Home Orientation: It’s time for new home orientation! You will walk through the house with the team and check out how everything works, as well as receive your new homeowner’s manual.
Stage #9: Closing Day: It’s closing day! You will stop at the home and make sure everything’s completed, and then it’s time to grab those closing papers and keys. You’re a new homeowner!
Stage #10: Warranty Check: Our work doesn’t stop on closing day. After you move in, we are available to you if any issues should arise and offer a warranty!

You’ll Love Our Design Center!
Hearthside Homes built its custom Design Center in the Fall of 2019. This awesome space was built to serve as a comfortable meeting space for clients, both prospective and current. Throughout the Design Center, clients can find various material displays, including cabinetry, doors, flooring, faucets, and much more! A kitchen with an island, a trendy bathroom, a collaboration table, and office space can also be found in the Design Center.
