City Of Fountains
Kansas City is known as the City Of Fountains. There are more than 200 fountains scattered throughout the metro area. This tradition dates back to the 1800s when horses needed a drink! Some of the must-see fountains include the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain on the Plaza and the Henry Wollman Bloch Fountain located just outside of Union Station.
Cultural Experiences
Kansas City has tons of historic landmarks for you to explore. From Union Station to the Nelson Atkins Museum Of Art, the National WWI Museum and Memorial, the American Jazz Museum, and the Harry S Truman Library and Museum, there are tons of great places to explore in Kansas City!
Super Bowl Champions
We couldn’t write this blog post without showing off our football team! Kansas City is so proud to support our Chiefs! Winning the 2020 Super Bowl Championship was an incredible milestone for our community. If you’re in the area during the season, be sure to grab a ticket to Arrowhead Stadium! In addition to the Chiefs, Kansas City is home to Sporting Kansas City (soccer) and Royals Stadium (baseball).
Best Barbeque
If there’s one thing locals love as much as football it’s their BBQ! Kansas City is well known for the awesome barbeque. From Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que to Q39, Gates Bar-B-Q, and Hawg Jaw Que & Brew, there are nearly endless delicious possibilities!
Other Restaurants
Kansas City has more great dining options outside of BBQ joints! From McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks to the Hereford House, The Capital Grille, Westport Flea Market, and more, there’s a great flavor for everyone! If you love a good cocktail you’ll have a great time exploring Belvoir Winery, KC Wine Co, Boulevard Brewing Co., and Union Horse Distilling Company! Oh, and if you love your furry friend be sure to take them to Bar K!
Night Life
Do you want to dance the night away? Downtown Kansas City has a great nightlife. You’ll love the Power & Light District, a cluster of awesome bars and live music. Some favorite bars include Howl At The Moon, Mosaic, and PBR Big Sky. You may also want to consider exploring Westport. This lively area is full of fun at night!
Entertainment Options
The entertainment doesn’t stop there! If you love concerts, check out the T Mobile Center, Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland, and the Uptown Theater. If you enjoy roller coasters and rides, Worlds Of Fun is a great place to spend your time! There are also tons of casinos in the area including Casino KC, Argosy Casino Hotel & Spa, and Harrah’s Kansas City.
The River Market
The River Market is a super fun place to explore on the weekends! With local vendors, produce, baked goods, and flowers, there’s plenty of goodies to shop for! If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the spice stores and the Chinatown Food Market.
Shopping Experiences
If you love to spend your free time shopping, you’ll be thrilled to find an abundance of options in the Kansas City and surrounding areas! In downtown Kansas City you’ll discover the Plaza, an upscale shopping center. If you’re looking for high-end goods, such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci, you might consider heading out south to the Leawood and Overland Park areas. For TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Target, Starbucks, and more, you’ll find everything you need up North in Liberty, Missouri!
