Big Kitchen Islands
Who wouldn’t want a big island in their kitchen? Having a big island allows more room for cooking and entertaining. You’ll love having the extra countertop space to serve food on. Add some bar stools and host your family and friends with no problem! As a bonus, kitchen islands also offer great storage!
Ceiling-High, Two-Toned, And Handleless Cabinets
New cabinet styles are huge this year! Ceiling-high cabinets allow for extra storage and they make the room look taller. Two-toned cabinets are visually appealing and add some depth to the room. In 2021, many homeowners are opting for white upper cabinets and colorful bottom cabinets. Alternatively, some homeowners prefer to have neutral main cabinets and a bold color on the island. Interested in a modern look? Try handleless cabinets!
Prep Kitchen
A prep kitchen, or butler’s pantry, is a bonus space that makes your kitchen even more functional! These spaces usually include cabinets, countertops, a sink, and sometimes even a dishwasher! Prep kitchens are excellent for storing everyday appliances that you don’t want to display in the main kitchen.
Walk-In Pantry
Having a large walk-in pantry can be great for appliance and food storage. You can keep the kitchen cleaner and more organized by having a place to put everything! Not to mention, you’ll love having the luxury of fewer grocery trips because you can store so much food at home! Want to add some flare to your walk-in pantry? Get a door with a chalkboard on it to write out the weekly meal plan. This will save you from constantly reminding family members what’s for dinner!
Gold Hardware
Want to make your kitchen shine? Gold hardware is a trend that’s here to stay! From pulls to faucets, gold hardware can make your kitchen look modern and chic.
Pendant Lights
Want a stylish way to make your kitchen more glamorous? Adding pendant lights above the kitchen island is a trend we’re loving! Depending on how big your island is, you can easily add 2, 3, or 4 pendant lights to make the space brighter. In addition to various glass shades, pendant lights come in an array of finishes such as nickel, brass, black, gold, or bronze.
Range Hoods
Range hoods don’t just look good, they are also highly functional! They are an essential kitchen component that can remove heat, steam, and smoke. Add a little flair to your kitchen by adding wood accents to your range hood or making it pop with a bold color such as navy, black, or charcoal.
Beautiful Backsplashes
Beautiful backsplashes can spice up any kitchen. You can add tiles with textures or patterns to make your kitchen walls really stand out! For a timeless look, go with a white or marble backsplash. If you’re feeling adventurous, try something more vibrant!
Pops Of Color
Fun pops of color scattered throughout the kitchen is a trend to get behind. After all, there’s no doubt that cheerful colors can make you happier! Add your favorite color as an accent wall in the kitchen or dining room. If you’re not afraid of commitment, try painting your bottom cabinets or the kitchen island. For a more simplistic approach, add color to your kitchen with hand towels, silverware, plates, chairs, etc. Pick what colors you love and add them throughout the kitchen to jazz it up!
Marble Countertops
Open any home catalog these days, and you’re guaranteed to see marble countertops. It’s no surprise why marble is popular! Marble countertops are becoming more and more common for modern homes, as they look luxurious and elegant.
White Kitchens
White is here to stay in 2021! An all-white kitchen looks calm, neat, and minimal. Many people are choosing this simplistic look as it makes the home look more spacious and inviting.
Ultra-Dark Kitchens
On the other hand, dark kitchens are also becoming increasingly popular. Black cabinetry and countertops can make your home look sleek and resort-like. Add metallic hardware and faucets to your dark kitchen to give the space a little glam!
Retro Style Kitchens
Just as retro clothing styles are making a comeback, so are retro-style kitchens! Old paint finishing and wood accents look great with modern countertops and hardware.

Sean says: “I have nothing but rave reviews for the home building process that I went through with Hearthside Homes. Being an architect myself, I was pretty picky about finishes and the process, and the entire team was so informative and helpful along the way. Even in this crazy COVID climate that we are currently in, they always made sure to take care of the homeowner and make sure that they were well aware of everything. Having built another new house 4 years ago in this same area, I would choose Hearthside Homes in a heartbeat over them. Truly top-notch service and craftsmanship! Thank you Hearthside Homes for building me the amazing home that I wanted for my family and I. We look forward to all of the memories that are made within these walls for years to come!”
